One of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines, Civil Engineering involves planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and supervising infrastructures which include facilities essential to modern life like highways, bridges and tunnels, schools, hospitals, airports and other buildings, sewage systems and water treatment facilities. Subsequently, the course also involves protecting the public and environmental health as well as improving existing infrastructure. If a student is planning to have a career in Civil Engineering then he/she should have to pursue an undergraduate engineering program (BTech) after completion of which students can opt for a job or for a postgraduation program in the same stream. Some colleges also offer a Diploma in Civil Engineering.
B.Tech in Civil Engineering
B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering
One of the oldest and broadest fields of engineering, Mechanical engineering deals with the design, construction, and use of machines. The programme endows students with the basic understanding and knowledge of how heavy tools and machinery work. A student pursuing a mechanical engineering programme will acquire knowledge about designing of automobiles, electric motors, aircraft and other heavy vehicles. Mechanical engineers design everything from new batteries, athletic equipment to medical devices and from personal computers, air conditioners, automobile engines to electric power plants. These engineers also design machines that produce these innovations.
B.Tech in Electronics & Electrical Engineering
This field of Engineering indulges in the study and application of electricity and electronics. In a world that practically lives on electricity, electrical appliances, and computer software, this branch of engineering has a bright future. B.Tech EEE is designed to provide skills and knowledge about the electrical, electronic and computer-based systems so as to make students successful engineers with a shining career. The course consists of core courses, electives, and Lab Practical. The course delivery methods include lectures, lab work, practical training, assignments, workshops etc. During B.Tech EEE course, students are encouraged to undergo practical training and this usually happens after the end of the fourth semester.
B-Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering
Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) involves researching, designing, developing and testing of electronic equipment used in various systems. Electronics and Communications engineers also conceptualize and oversee the manufacturing of communications and broadcast systems. This stream of engineering deals with analog transmission, basic electronics, microprocessors, solid state devices, digital and analog communication, analog integrated circuits, microwave engineering, satellite communication, antennae and wave progression. It also deals with the manufacturing of electronic devices, circuits, and communications equipment. In India, Electronics and Communications Engineering is offered by various colleges at the UG as well PG level leading to BTech (4 years) and MTech (2 years) degrees respectively.
B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering
One of the most sought after courses amongst engineering students, Computer Science Engineering (CSE) is an academic programme which integrates the field of Computer Engineering and Computer Science. The programme, which emphasises the basics of computer programming and networking, comprises a plethora of topics. The said topics are related to computation, algorithms, programming languages, program design, computer software, computer hardware, etc. Computer science engineers are involved in many aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers to circuit designing and writing software that powers them. The course is offered by technical institutes across India and Abroad at the UG (Undergraduate) and PG (Postgraduate) level where students are awarded BTech and MTech degree respectively. Students pursuing the course will be taught about design, implementation, and management of information system of computer hardware and software.
Bachelor of Science (BSc)
Bachelor of Science (BSc) is an undergraduate degree course usually of three years duration. It is one of the most popular course choices among Science students after Class 12th. Full form of BSc is Bachelor of Science (Baccalaureus Scientiae in Latin) The course is considered as a foundation course for students who want make their career in the field of Science. It is offered in a variety of Science subjects at a majority of universities in India. Some of the popular BSc courses that students usually choose to pursue after Class 12th are BSc Physics, BSc Computer Science, BSc Chemistry, BSc Biology, BSc Mathematics, and so on. A BSc course can be pursued as both a full-time or part-time course. Students can choose to pursue plain BSc or BSc (Honours). The course is most apt for students who have a strong interest and background in Science and Mathematics. The course is also beneficial for students who wish to pursue multi and inter-disciplinary science careers in future. After the completion of a BSc degree, candidates can opt to pursue Master of Science (MSc) or even secure admission in a professional job-oriented course.
Bachelors of Arts (BA)
The Undergraduate level courses in Arts and Humanities stream is known as B.A. or the Bachelors of Arts. The UG level B.A. courses are conducted for 3 years across the country. There are various specialisations under B.A. degree which are, B.A. General Programmes, B.A. Honours and B.A.
Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)
About Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) Bachelor of Commerce, which is popularly known by its abbreviation B.Com, is an undergraduate course that is completed over a duration of three years. B.Com is among the most popular bachelor's level programmes and is therefore offered in a vast number of colleges and universities
Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
A Bachelor of Education is a graduate professional degree which prepares students for work as a teacher in schools, though in some countries like Tanzania, Kenya and various other countries, additional tasks like field work and research are required in order for the student to be fully qualified to teach
B.Sc in Nursing
B.Sc in Nursing is an undergraduate course that all medical aspirants can pursue in different B.Sc Nursing colleges in India. The course, in India, is offered as a 4-year undergraduate programme for all students who have cleared class 12th from the stream of science.
Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Medical Laboratory Technology)
BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology or BSc MLT course is an undergraduate Medical Lab Technology program. Medical Laboratory Technology program can also be named as Clinical laboratory science. It is an allied health profession that is concerned with the treatment, diagnosis, and prevention of disease through the use of clinical laboratory tests. It is a 3-year freshman course that is divided into 6 semesters i.e. 2 semesters each year. To get eligible for this course, one should secure a minimum score in 10+2 with science stream (PCMB) from a recognized board. The pass percentage may vary from institute to institute. The admission to this course is offered by considering the 10+2 merit and entrance exam scores (if any).
